Matt has been in the music industry for nearly 20 years, working with some of the biggest acts in the music business and has been instrumental in the development and launch of the careers of many new and significant artists. Having spent most of his career working for Warner and Sony Music he left and launched a series of mobile marketing and gaming initiatives in the North American and European markets.
The technology spanned all media and included mobile, music downloads by cellphone, interactive television and the Internet.
Matt began his career in 1989 working for CBS records in Sydney where he developed his skills in sales and marketing. Some of the artists he worked with include Billy Joel, Midnight Oil, Michael Jackson, The Doors, The Highwaymen, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Joe Satriani, and Pink Floyd amongst others.
In 1992 he moved to the Warner Music Group, where he worked his way to Sales Manager in Sydney, and then National Sales Manager in NZ. Reporting to Hong Kong the company grew in revenue per capita to 1 of the top 3 worldwide affiliate countries during this time.
At Warner Music, Matt worked personally with a large number of international touring artists including Madonna, Matchbox 20, Alanis Morissette, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Collective Soul, Tracey Chapman, Better than Eza, REM, Pantera, KD Lang, Chris Isaak, Michael Crawford, INXS, Van Halen and many others.
After nearly 10 years at Warners, Matt left and started a number of new technology initiatives; including a music video Internet game called Hypertainment, and then founded Txtstation (www.txtstation.com) as CEO.
Txtstation developed a unique interactive television voting system powered by cell phones (SMS) for live sports and entertainment events/broadcasts. After developing the Txtstation concept in early 2002, Matt raised $6,000,000 in funding to launch the company worldwide and moved offshore to New York and Los Angeles.
During this time he personally signed major clients to the mobile marketing system that included CBS, Fox, ESPN, NBA, Time Warner and FIFA for the world cup.
In June 2006, Matt was asked to take on the position as CEO for a new music concept called Txttunes, which launched a mobile payment system where fans purchase music and charged mobile phones instead of using a credit card. The technology launched and won industry accolades by winning best artist-based digital music service from the 2006 Digimusicon conference in Miami.
In his current position, Matt then launched Let The People Speak Entertainment after discovering a number of artists through the Txttunes music community and is responsible for the management of a number of significant bands including hit makers Dane Rumble, Ezra Vine and Titanium.
Matt was integral in discovering platinum seller Midnight Youth, who went on to be one of the biggest rock bands in New Zealand. He also discovered Avalanche City setting them on an amazing path to success globally.
Kimi works closely with the bands in all aspects of their publicity, marketing and logistical arrangements for touring while Rohan specialises in new media and technology.
